1 Who We Are

EvaYours is a daily devotional Android application developed by Cryptic Samsara. The app provides scripture-based devotionals drawn from The Bible In One Year by Sis. Bose Olatunbosun, along with prayer points, spiritual journaling, and personal reading tracking.

This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the rights you have regarding your data.

2 Information We Collect

Information You Provide

• Email address — used solely for account authentication via Firebase Auth.
• Display name — optional name you set in your profile.
• Journal entries — titles, body text, and tags you write. These are private to you.
• Favourites and bookmarks — which devotionals or verses you have saved.
• Read history — which devotionals you have read, used to calculate your streak.
• Optional profile details — phone number, date of birth, gender, marital status if you provide them. Stored locally on your device only.

Collected Automatically

• Crash reports (Firebase Crashlytics) — device type, OS version, error stack trace. No personal content is included.
• Performance data (Firebase Performance) — anonymous metrics like screen load times.

What We Do NOT Collect

• Your location
• Your contacts, camera, photos, or microphone
• Financial information
• Advertising identifiers or cross-app tracking data

3 How We Use Your Information

4 Data Storage and Security

Where Your Data Lives

• On your device — devotional content, favourites, bookmarks, and read history are stored in a local database (Room/SQLite) on your Android device.
• Firebase Firestore — your favourites, bookmarks, read history, and journal entries are synced to Google's cloud so they are available when you log in on a new device.
• Firebase Auth — your email and password hash are managed by Google Firebase Authentication. EvaYours never sees your password in plain text.

Security Measures

• All data in transit is encrypted using TLS (HTTPS).
• Firestore security rules ensure each user can only access their own data — no other user can read your journal entries, favourites, or bookmarks.
• Passwords are hashed by Firebase — we never store them.

Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account (Profile → Account Information → Delete Account), all your data is permanently erased from Firestore and Firebase Auth within 30 days. Local data is removed when you uninstall the app.

EvaYours uses the following Google Firebase services. Each is governed by Google's Privacy Policy.

We do not use advertising networks, social media trackers, or any analytics beyond the Firebase services listed above.

7 Children's Privacy

EvaYours is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal data, please contact us at evayours@crypticsamsara.com and we will delete it promptly.

8 Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, the Last Updated date at the top will change. For significant changes, we will notify you through the app. Continued use of EvaYours after an update means you accept the revised policy.
